Remove Background from Image
Files are deleted automatically after 24 hours. We do not log your content or use it for AI training.
Upload a photo and this tool separates the main subject from its background, then gives you a PNG with a transparent backdrop. It works on people, products, pets, logos and most other clear subjects, and it does not need an account.
The result is processed on our own GPU server rather than in your browser, so it works equally well on a phone or an old laptop. Your image is used only to produce the cut-out and is removed automatically after 24 hours, or immediately when you press Delete now.
How to use Remove Background from Image
- Drop a PNG, JPG or WebP image onto the box, choose a file, or paste an image from your clipboard. Files up to 10 MB are accepted.
- Press Remove background and wait a few seconds. A progress bar shows whether your image is queued or being processed.
- Compare the original and the result with the preview, then press Download to save the transparent PNG.
- If you want the file gone right away, press Delete now. Otherwise it is erased automatically after 24 hours.
Features
The result keeps full resolution of your upload and can be placed on any colour or design.
Hair, fur and soft edges are matted rather than cut with a hard outline, which looks more natural on new backgrounds.
Use it straight away. There is no account, watermark or trial limit on the image you download.
We do not log image content, we do not train models on uploads, and results expire after 24 hours.
The heavy lifting happens on the server, so phones and low-end computers get the same quality.
When a transparent background helps
Product photos look cleaner on a plain or branded background, and many online marketplaces ask for a white or transparent backdrop. Removing the background lets you reuse one photo across a shop listing, a banner and a social post without re-shooting it.
Designers use cut-outs for collages and thumbnails, teachers use them in slides, and anyone preparing an ID-style picture can swap a cluttered room for a neutral colour. A transparent PNG is the most flexible starting point for all of these.
Tips for a cleaner cut-out
Start from a sharp, well-lit photo where the subject stands apart from what is behind it. Avoid heavy compression, since blocky artefacts around edges are copied into the result. If the subject is small in the frame, crop closer before uploading so more pixels describe its outline.
Frequently asked questions
Is the background remover free?
Yes. You can process images without paying or creating an account. The site is supported by advertising.
What image formats can I upload?
PNG, JPG (JPEG) and WebP, up to 10 MB per image. The result is always a PNG because that format supports transparency.
Are my photos stored or used for training?
No training and no content logging. The upload and the result are kept only so you can download them, then deleted automatically after 24 hours. You can delete them sooner with the Delete now button.
Why does the edge look rough on some images?
Low contrast between the subject and the background, motion blur or very small subjects are harder to separate. Try a sharper original or a larger image.
Can I use the result commercially?
You keep the rights you already had in your own image. Make sure you have the right to use any photo you upload, including people and brands shown in it.
Can I change the background after removing it?
Download the transparent PNG and place it over any colour or picture in your preferred editor, slide deck or design tool.
