Write a headline, add a line under it, a short text of up to 280 characters and, if you want, a photo. The generator sets them on a finished poster layout and returns a PNG, which suits an event notice, an announcement, a quote card or a shop sign.

Three templates and three palettes change the whole look, and three sizes cover feeds, phones and screens. This tool fills a ready-made layout. If you want to move every element yourself, use the free design editor instead.

How to use Poster Generator

  1. Type a headline, and optionally a subline and a short text.
  2. Optionally add a PNG, JPG or WebP photo. It is shrunk in your browser before it is sent.
  3. Choose a template, a palette and a size.
  4. Press Make poster, wait for the render, then check the preview and download the PNG.

Examples of what to put in

An event: headline "Spring Plant Swap", subline "Saturday 12 April, 10:00 to 14:00", body "Bring cuttings and seedlings, take something new home. Community garden, 14 Mill Lane. Free entry."

A sale: headline "Closing Down Sale", subline "Everything half price", body with the dates and the address. Add a photo of the shop front for the image.

A quote card: headline the quote itself (80 characters), subline the name of the speaker, no body text.

Tips for a poster people read

Keep one message. The headline should say what and the subline when or where. Leave details such as price lists out, they will not be read at poster distance.

Use a photo with a calm area, because text is placed over or beside it. Very busy pictures work better with the Art Deco template.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to add a photo?

No. Without a photo the template draws a poster from the text and its own shapes.

What happens to my photo?

Your browser shrinks it to at most 1600 pixels and saves it as JPEG before it is sent, so metadata such as GPS location is dropped. The photo is used for the poster only and is deleted with the result after 24 hours.

How is this different from the design editor?

The generator fills a ready-made layout from your text in one step. The design editor is a blank canvas where you place and style every element yourself.

Is this made by AI?

No. There is no AI model and nothing is generated from a prompt. Your words are placed into fixed, hand-built templates and drawn by a headless browser, so the result is predictable: the text you type is the text you get.

Is my content kept?

Only long enough for you to download the result. The text you enter and the result are deleted automatically after 24 hours, or immediately with the Delete now button. We do not log what you write or use it to train models.
