Many passport, visa and ID applications ask for a plain white or light background. This page takes a portrait you already have, cuts the person out with AI and places them on solid white, saved as a JPG that is ready to upload or print.
It only handles the background. It does not crop the picture to a country size, centre the face or check head height, so crop the photo to the required proportions first (or after) and confirm the rules of the office you are applying to. Cropping and exact pixel sizes can be done with our free resize tool.
How to use Passport Photo Background Maker

The background is flattened onto solid white and saved as JPG, the format most application portals expect.
HD quality is preselected. It is slower but keeps loose hair and shoulders cleaner than the standard mode.
The output has the same pixel size as your upload, so you decide the final crop and size.

Getting to the right size
After you download the white-background JPG, open the resize tool and enter the pixel width and height the application asks for. It keeps the aspect ratio but does not crop, so make sure the photo already has the right proportions before you resize.
Frequently asked questions
Does it make the photo the correct passport size?
No. It only replaces the background with white. Crop the picture to the proportions your country asks for, then use the resize tool to set the exact pixel width and height.
Will the photo be accepted by the passport office?
We cannot promise that. Offices also check lighting, expression, head position and shadows, which this tool does not change. A shadow or a tilted head in the original stays in the result.
Which photo gives the best result?
A sharp, front-facing portrait in even daylight, with the person clearly separated from the wall. Heavy shadows on the background or hair that blends into it can leave a faint edge.
Can I get a transparent PNG instead?
Yes. Change Background to Transparent and Format to PNG in the options, or use the main background remover page.
Are my photos kept?
Only long enough for you to download the result. Files are deleted automatically after 24 hours, and you can remove them sooner with the Delete now button. We do not log image content or train models on uploads.
