Anime and illustrations have clean lines and flat colours, and general photo upscalers tend to add grain and smear them. This page preselects the anime and illustration model and 4x scale, which keeps lines crisp and colours smooth.
It works on a single image at a time and on PNG, JPG or WebP files up to 10 MB. It enlarges still images only, not video or animation frames in bulk.

Choosing 2x or 4x
Use 4x for icons, avatars and small fan art. For wallpapers or images already above about 1500 px wide, 2x is usually enough and faster.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on screenshots from videos?
It works on any single image, including a video frame saved as a picture. Results depend on how compressed the frame is; heavy blocks in the source are only partly cleaned.
Can I upscale a whole video?
No. This tool processes one image at a time.
Why use the anime model instead of the general one?
It is trained on drawn art, so it keeps outlines sharp and avoids adding photo-like noise to flat colours. For real photos, choose the photo model.
How big can the output get?
A 1000 px image becomes 4000 px at 4x. Large inputs at 4x produce very large files and may be rejected, so use 2x for them.
Are my photos kept?
Only long enough for you to download the result. Files are deleted automatically after 24 hours, and you can remove them sooner with the Delete now button. We do not log image content or train models on uploads.
